Why Lauren is Scared of Dating.

Alright. So before I post, I must explain that I love this girl to death, so this is slowly breaking my heart. We have so much fun talking to eachother, and then things like this come up and we have to get serious.

[00:36] ThatOneKiddAllie: haha.
[00:36] ThatOneKiddAllie: um..
[00:36] ThatOneKiddAllie: [12:35] Ziggy: alliza... you hopped into a pretty advanced relationship. ive had sex twice, and done a lot of others tuff thati shall spare the details on... you have only been in 1 serious relationship, and you still got 3 years of school... waht ive been thinking about lately, is i think you should find someone who can take a relationship at your speed...[12:35] Ziggy: there i said it \=
[00:55] ThatOneKiddAllie: [12:54] ThatOneKiddAllie: Do you want me or not [12:54] ThatOneKiddAllie: It's as simple as that.[12:54] Ziggy: i wish i could give a yes or no answer[00:56]
[01:23] ThatOneKiddAllie: he told me he wanted to touch me..
[01:23] ThatOneKiddAllie: like.. southern.. front..
[01:23] darnedpencil: um... whoooaaa.
[01:28] ThatOneKiddAllie: i actually feel
[01:28] ThatOneKiddAllie: like throwing up at the moment.
[01:28] darnedpencil: I can't say that I wouldn't blame you.
[01:33] darnedpencil: So what's he saying? "Let me touch you or else you should probably find someone else?"
[01:33] ThatOneKiddAllie: [01:31] ThatOneKiddAllie: It's your choice. [01:31] ThatOneKiddAllie: Do you want to keep this going [01:31] ThatOneKiddAllie: or do you want to finalize it. [01:31] Ziggy: i dont... want to break up because it sounds like im breaking up with you so i can have sex with some other chick... [01:32] Ziggy: and people are gonna see me as a dick for leaving you to try and get in someone elses pants [01:32] ThatOneKiddAllie: well... you are a dick for doing that [01:32] ThatOneKiddAllie: technically =\ [01:32] Ziggy: yeah
[01:34] darnedpencil: ROFL.
[01:34] darnedpencil: I'm REALLY sitting here, laughing, that you said 'technically'.
[01:35] darnedpencil: Even though I agree completely.
[01:36] ThatOneKiddAllie: [01:33] ThatOneKiddAllie: so, what, you won't break up with me because of what other people will think of you? [01:34] Ziggy: i... think, i dont know?

This guy, "Ziggy", is her BOYFRIEND.
After that last quote, I unleased some censor-worthy words.

//Edit//

New stuff:

[01:57] ThatOneKiddAllie: [01:40] ThatOneKiddAllie: I'm in a freaking relationship where the guy just wants to cop a feel. [01:40] ThatOneKiddAllie: And if I won't let him [01:40] Ziggy: partly [01:40] ThatOneKiddAllie: he wont break up with me because he's afraid his friends will be mean to him and people will talk about him. [01:40] ThatOneKiddAllie: Then why don't I do it. [01:40] ThatOneKiddAllie: Well. [01:41] ThatOneKiddAllie: If I broke up with you, people will ask me why, I'll tell the truth, and you'll look like more of an ASSHOLE than you already are. [01:41] Ziggy: i woulod deserve that
[01:57] darnedpencil: Ain't that the truth.
[01:58] darnedpencil: I have just decided that you're my Oprah. I love you.

ALSO.

She's just told me that they're okay, and that she's not giving up on him yet --- She's going to try to pull him out of this.
This is why I couldn't be good at dating. No way.

Who Let the Dogs Out?

I DID! I DID!
So, my mom and my great-aunt showed up at the house today, as, um, expected (Wow. That was an awkward sentence.), bringing along Molly, her older mini-shnauzer, and Suzie, her going-to-be-a-year-old-in-September dog of the same breed.
As it turns out, SURPRISE!!!! WE'RE KEEPING SUZIE!!!!
She loves me more than my mom, which is a first from ANY dog we've ever owned. She's black and freakishly adorable, not to mention that she loves to play and snuggle.

I AM SO HAPPY AND EXCITED.
OHkay. Breathe.

So, Colorado is cancelled. I'm here for the rest of the Summer, or so I've been told. It bummed me out, but now that Suzie's here, I really don't care as much. Mazie, our min-shauz, doesn't like Suzie yet. We'll give her time, though. Plus, Mazie loves Mom. Suzie loves ME. FINALLY.

Vicky?

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/26/07)
“The stories say that the Cold Woman was the most beautiful thing human eyes had ever seen. She looked like the goddess of the dawn when she entered the village that morning; the sun was shining for once, and it glittered off her white skin and lit the golden hair that flowed down to her knees. Her face was magical in its beauty, her eyes black in her white face. Some fell to their knees to worship her.” — Billy Black

...And then she slaughtered them all, laughing while she did so.

Just kidding.
So anyways, who's this Cold Woman? I mean, she fits the description for a vampire, duh, but... Wait a sec... What color is Victoria's hair? It could be irrelevant, but still.
Jacob's the Legend Kid, I've decided. He's bringing all of these creatures into Bella's mind, and really, considering what she's been through, I don't think he should be telling her more of these "true legends."
Ah, whatever. It obviously makes for a good story.

Oh, I finished my English reading for the summer. Now all I have left is the crappy symbolism worksheet, analyzing the characters, a mind map, and a two person poem of 20 lines. Woo-hoo.
By the way, I hate symbolism. HATE IT.

“I was just wondering why you stabbed him. Not that I object.” — Edward Cullen

AHH. YES! WOOO! GO BELLA!
:)

Okay. And.
WHY COULDN'T I PREORDER MY BOOK, DANGIT?!?!?! Some copies of Eclipse were actually shipped by accident... Meaning that some people who preordered already HAVE the book, and the company can't take it back. AHHHH. I'm furious. But excited.

7.24.2007

Golden Rule Days

So, orientation is coming up... Again. Except that I've turned into this big mushball who's scared by the idea of high school.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh.

And, if it could possibly also blow up and create loud noises, I told people. Who think I'm paranoid. But when I tell things to them, they don't understand that the out-of-this-world, crazy-faced, ougoing girl named Lauren is the exact same Lauren who tells adorable foreign guys that yes, Americans really do kick people in the head as a greeting. Idiot.
Okay, so I mean, I've MET a bunch of the people I'm going to school with next year, and they're all cool. But there's always, as I was explaining to my mom, those people who let it get to their heads that they're older than me, and I end up having to run away and be all shy, like I really am. No lie, here.
Anywhom.
August eighth, I go to get my schedule and pay for parking decals and stuff. Not that I use them, but hey, whatever. It's school policy. I'm just a peon.

I started working on that crapolic story about the girl who's really a trained assassin in the older ages, or whatever, that almost kills her brother, except I've totally revamped it, and yeah, my grammar's gotten a TON better since then. Plus, I now know that 'I' and 'Her' cannot refer to the same person without being a total screw up. Jeez.
Ummmm....

Yeah. So. That's my life, up to the moment. I'm learning how to make flower baskets tomorrow (woo-hoo) from my Aunt (by the way, that woohoo? That was actually weird, and shouldn't be there. I WANT to learn this.), who's actually making me one for my room that has to be clean tomorrow, and THEN, I have to clean out the fridge and do my summer homework that my LOVELY English teacher that I haven't even met yet has already given me. Joy. To. The. WORLD.

So, if you don't see much of me tomorrow, you know why. I promise, I'm still alive. Maybe. :)

[14:28] missannapants: ....Bella's thinking about DYING??? :O
[14:30] darnedpencil: See, I don't know.
[14:30] darnedpencil: Like... I think Alice is just warning her.
[14:30] darnedpencil: And talking about the two guys.
[14:31] missannapants: Yeah... or Bella could be being stupid again...

Ahaha. True dat.

Japanese Culture Talk.

[23:08] LizAliz: do you know anything about Japanese Culture
[23:09] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: Absolutely
[23:09] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: Not.
[23:09] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: Except that it involves a lot of rice and callouses.
[23:09] LizAliz: callouses?
[23:09] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: Ci.
[23:10] LizAliz: how so?
[23:10] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: ...What?
[23:11] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: Callous --- [KAL-us] hard spot of skin that Lauren often references to concerning rice farming.
[23:11] LizAliz: lmao
[23:13] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: Why do you ask? :)
[23:13] LizAliz: Butch has a homework assignment
[23:13] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: Ahaha.
[23:13] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: I mean, oh.
[23:14] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: I'm boycotting my homework.
[23:14] laurenreynolds@swbell.net: Until, um, tomorrow.
[23:14] LizAliz: lmao

I should really consider a job in Japanese Culture. Better yet, a World History teacher. Dear lord.

Iconilation.

ROFL, Jacob. Rofl.
I'm ready for Eclipse. HP made me depressingly serious.

I HAVE THE NEW HARRY POTTER.
BY THE TIME I MAKE ANOTHER POST, I WILL HAVE READ THE ENTIRE THING.

...And.

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/20/07)
"Fall down again, Bella?” — Emmett Cullen

ROFL.

Just Another Disney Princess.

So I was sitting in my dad's recliner today (well, yesterday... It's after midnight), with my head on one armrest and my feet dangling off of the other, thinking about what I wrote in my last post -meaning the story, not the CTS-, and what Anna had asked me about it being related to the Jase* story. To tell the truth, it was, by all means, supposed to be. But it veered way off track, and turned into a harsh monster who eats good writing for lunch.
Oh, and by the way, did you notice Katy isn't Katy anymore? Yeah, I think that's permanent. And Steven's going to be an add-in somewhere in the actual story.
ANYWAYS.
So, I'm laying in this really comfy recliner all awkward, and it kind of feels like someone's picking me up, in that whole damsel-in-distress manner, which gets me to thinking about writing a modern-day damsel part to the story, where the MC is so weak that someone has to come in and drag her back into normality.
...I did --- The weak part, at least. And I love it. Except, well... Someone had to die to cause this part to happen, and that someone had to mean a lot to the MC.

And frankly, I'm not letting THAT spill for a while. :)

So I won't be posting this story. Not until I get enough beginning-ness and stablity to have a base to make this work. But I PROMISE to spring it on WR in the near future.

*Why is it called the Jase story?! Jase was only the supporting character, Katy being the MC --- Her name's now Arienne, though. But hey. I like calling it that in a weird way. :)

Character Therapy Session

C-T-S.
And guess what?
That's what this whole entire flipping post is about.
Because what happens when I break my writer's block? Yeah. My characters decide to take a personality vacation.

Check it out here, but I have to warn you, it's on a crappy Freewebs site I set up JUST so my post wouldn't be long.
Yeah, I know. I care. :)

This is one of my other ideas, twisted around and played with to no extent. But you can't tell that yet. All there is, at the moment, is a whole bunch of characters that I'd rather kill than use.
FunFact: I stole Arienne's name off of a girl I went to Europe with. Am I a great writer yet?
This is my brain function at the momento:

Arienne: What're we doing here?
Kelsey: This SUCKS severely. I want to go to bed.
Me: Hey. You guys. SHUT UP.
Steven: EXCUSE ME?! YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHEN TO SHUT UP! YOU DON'T CONTROL... Oh, yeah, I guess you do.
Me: Aha. So. We have a very important issue to discuss today.
Arienne: Are you freakin' serious? It's literally 1:14. In the MORNING.
Kelsey: Idiotic writers.
Me: WOOHOO. I'M THE AUTHOR HERE.... Okay. So, here's the deal. I want-
Steven: You know what I want? *I* want to go home. *I* want to not be a part of this story, because originally, *I* started out as a friendly guy who worked in Starbucks, and you turned *me* into an evil, funny, freakishly sexy supervisor. In a bookstore, nonetheless!
Me: At least you're not dorky anymore. You turned HOT. You owe ME.
Steven: (mumbles something about stupid book lovers who shouldn't be writing.)
Kelsey, accusingly: At least you're not a SLUT, Steven.
Me: It's not my fault that you wanted to take over the story and become the very bane of it's existence.
Kelsey: (shrieks) I DID NOTHING LIKE THAT.
Me: YOU DID TOO... Well, okay, not the 'bane of it's existence' part. But because you wanted to be the star, I forced it on you.
Arienne: Hello? I'm still here... If I'm not needed, can I go home?
Me: (sigh) Arienne, TALK, dear. That's really your only problem. And, slight question, but why are you so pathetic? Honey, Kelsey's a mean, slutty-
Kelsey: I AM NOT A SLUT.
Me: I MADE YOU, AND I SAY WHAT YOU ARE OR ARE NOT, IS THAT CLEAR?
Steven: You're really screwed up in the head, aren't you, Lauren? Drugs, I presume? I mean, look at THAT. I just went SMART and said PRESUME.
Arienne: It's not a bad thing to be smart... I mean, like, I'm all googley-eyed over a jock-that's-not-a-jock that my whorish best friend- No offense, Kelse...
Kelsey: None taken... Maybe it's alcohol, Steven...
Arienne: -is going out with. I mean, seriously. AND, I'm shy, AND, I think I'm falling for you, Steven, which isn't supposed to happen. Thank you, spank you, Lauren.
Steven: ...Oh, really? Falling for moi? I might be able to go with that. (grins)
Arienne: Yeah. Well, what's really bad is that I'm SUPPOSED to be going to fall in love with this guy that only I can see, which is kind of the whole main plotline, but since we have an insane author that isn't getting anything done and would rather have therapy sessions with the characters in her mind...
Me: (flails around, throws hands up in the air.) THAT'S IT. I HATE YOU ALL. I'M GOING TO BED AND I'LL KILL YOU LATER.

Oh, the fun we shall have.

Haha. Yes, he does know. But he's got some weird definitions of 'thought'.
Oh, man. I'm so tired.
Went to Bored- er, Borders today, and I sat there for two and a half hours to read 'The Off Season", the sequel of "Dairy Queen". I thought it would be good, since Dairy Queen was.
I hated that stupid ending.

---SPOILERS AHEAD, BECAUSE I'M JUST THAT BOLD.---

Okay, so I know that Brian was being jerky to her, with that whole 'face' thing everytime she showed up when he was with his friends, but a) I don't understand WHY he did it, and b) WHY DID HE HAVE TO DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?! He was ssooooooo sweet.
*runs off to spork the author.*

7.17.2007

DundunnaNAH.

Shocker.

I have THREE quotes, today, only because I *just* looked on Steph's MySpace to find the OTHER one for today, and someone had posted something on LJ about the one on her MySpace from yesterday:

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/17/07)
“I think I might have been wrong before, you know, about not being able to be friends. Maybe we could manage it, on my side of the line. Come see me.” — Jacob Black

“The way you regard me is ludicrous.” – Edward Cullen (This is the MySpace one from yesterday)

“None of those freaky Virgos here." - Jacob Black (Today, MySpace)

TO THE FIRST QUOTE - Oh, thank goodness. Jacob's growing some sense. And becoming sweeter, which I throw in for Anna's sake. Ha, ha.

SECOND - There's a background to where I got this quote; on the girl's LJ (Live Journal), she said, and I quote, "and since i figure he's talking to bella...". Is it really me, or do I think he may be talking to someone else. In face, I REALLY think he is. Even though, as seen before, I could be absolutely wrong. It's happened.

THIRD - Ha-ha, Jacob. Ha-ha.

Okay. So. Dad's fine, la-de-da, everything's mostly back to normal. It's GORGEOUS outside, though hotter than heckfire, so I'm trying to stay inside and admire it.
....
OKAY. I KNOW I SAID I'D TALK ABOUT MYSELF MORE THAN ECLIPSE, BUT THIS DROVE ME CRAZY:

I MEAN, EXCUSE ME IF I'M WRONG, BUT THAT'S ECLIPSE. WHERE'S MINE?!?!?!

7.16.2007

Juniper? Jasper? What?

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/16/07) “I didn’t have quite the same…upbringing as my adopted siblings here. My beginning was something else entirely.” — Jasper Hale

JASPERRRR!
Oh, man. Jasper's one of those guys that's really sweet, but really really really really (get the point?) dangerous. I want to hug him sometimes --- He's not always given enough credit.
I was rereading Twilight today, and when Edward talks about him, the visual I get is of this blonde little kid calming a mall full of people. Haha.

Anywhooo.

My dad's in the hospital since yesterday morning. It's REALLY not a big deal, since they can't find anything wrong with him; the only reason he went to the ER in the first place is because it was a stabbing pain in his side and he was in major pain. But they transferred him. And he spent the night. And he'll be home by "bedtime" tonight, or so the doctor says. If he starts feeling bad after that, we'll have to take him to the hospital... Again.
It's been a WAY exciting couple of days, let me tell you.
So, I spent most of today (five hours, at least) up at the Hospital in Norman. Borrrinnnggg stuff, there.
We've got a guy coming over in a few to fix the tractor-mower. Eeh.
Anyways, I really need to write. About what, I don't know, but I need to. Haha.

7.15.2007

Shape of my Heart - BSB.

So, I'm looking back on this month, and realize that I've only posted two or three things that are actually about me*. And while I know that yeah, Eclipse is a HUGE part of me and Edward and I are going to get married one day, that just analyzing the quotes isn't making this my* blog.
So, I'm doing the quotes... & a post. Everyday.

See you guys tomorrow... There's a lot to tell, let me just let you know now.

It's been a long day.

* - Yeah, I know. As uninteresting as my life may get sometimes.... Hahaha. I love you guys. And yes, I was just kidding about that uninteresting part. :)

Oh, happy days!

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/15/07)
"You aren't exactly the best judge of what is or isn't dangerous."
— Edward Cullen

Darn right! And from the lips of an angel.
I'm pretty sure this one's easy to analyze: Bella's *working on* getting herself into more trouble. It seems she can't ever really avoid that.

7.14.2007

A Rose Without Thorns.

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/14/07) "Would you like to hear my story, Bella? It doesn't have a happy ending—but which of ours does? If we had happy endings, we'd all be under gravestones now." — Rosalie Hale

FINALLY, I GET TO DISCUSS ROSALIE. She's just so enigmatic.

Rosalie is beautiful. She's gorgeous, she's angelic, and she's in love with the teddy bear Emmett.
But, up until the end of New Moon, everyone slightly despised her --- Both her and Bella didn't, under any circumstance, get along.
I think that since it's practically her fault that [beloved] Edward almost died, she's really trying to be nice to Bella - Without Bella, Edward would've met his untimely fate outside that clock tower.
And none of us would've wanted that. NO ONE.

I really believe Rosalie's going to grow on me. I mean, Alice is amazing now. But I think Rose is really going to pull together and get close to Bella.

...I hope.

7.13.2007

Sarcasm ROCKS.

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/13/07)“I already know how strong you are. You didn’t have to break the furniture.” — Bella Swan

AHAHAHAHA.
I adore Bella. She's so strong in the human way, but looks PATHETIC around all these mythical creatures of the night. Hahah.
Oh, Bella. Your sarcastic innocense is priceless. No wonder you got the guy. :)

Writing a Poem for a Scholarship

I dug this up today, and even after the shock of an Edward quote, thought it was pretty darn worth posting.
Background story: This poem was written, literally, after I'd written five gooey, mushy, deep feeling ones. I hated them all and always ran out of words to rhyme. (As you know, I'm not a poet. Really.) I was trying to write it for a scholarship, which I'm already starting to flip out about -Don't ask me why-, and was irritated to the point of stabbing my computer when out popped this poem. It's dumb, funny, and stupid, but I meant every stupid word of it. :D

Writing a Poem for a Scholarship
By: Lauren Reynolds

This is my fifth and final try
To write a decent poem,
So I had to use a rhyming dictionary
To proceed without anymore proem.

I’ve crossed out lines and pulled out hair
All the while with a banshee-like scream,
Trying to include the imagery and word choice
Wait - What the heck is my theme?!

I can scribble, act, or novel-write,
But poems, you’ve got to be kidding!
The more I write, the more I stink;
The submit button looks very forbidding.

So, pretty much, I’m trying to say
That I suck in writing in rhyme,
But in imagination, I don’t lack
(You could even say I’m ‘sublime’.)

7.12.2007

FINALLYTHANKYOU.

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/12/07) “Do you ever think that your life might be easier if you weren’t in love with me?” — Edward Cullen

Poor Edward. I can't even begin to imagine the super uber-grief he's feeling at the moment. Well, not even the moment --- All the time. Bella's life is constantly in danger because of him (according to his mind anyways --- I don't think it's occurred that he's the one SAVING her life) and that's the worst possible thing he thinks he can do to someone he loves.
Edward is my baby. I love him so much.
You know, Ed's way wrong. We know this. New Moon SHOWED us this. Bella's life got SO much harder without her vampire, and even if new problems happen when he's with her, it's still easier - No hole in her chest, no aching heartbreak...

Edward, SHUT UP. We all love you and want you to say. You're the sweetheart, here.

7.11.2007

OH, JACOB!

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/11/07) “Does my being half-naked bother you?” — Jacob Black
Ahahahaha. I love Jacob in a I'd-like-to-kill-you,-but-you're-too-freakin-funny way.
I'm beginning to think that Jacob's showing up a LOT in this next book, which is really scaring me. WHERE'S THE EDWARD QUOTES?! Ugh. I miss him. :(
But... Doesn't Stephenie adore Edward?! Doesn't she absolutely want both he and Bella to stay together? What's going on here?!!
I'm slightly panicked.

7.10.2007

She Said - Brie Larson

Yeah, she said (she said)... Get outta my way cause I’m goin' somewhere, This is not where I wanna be...

So, it's been a fairly long day. When I say long, it's long as in "I've spent too long without any time to myself. Anna bears witness to this. Errggh.

You can say what you want, You can tell me I’m wrong, La dee da, La dee dee...

I'm very sick of staying with a billion people in mi casa. It's not fun. AND, to make matters worse, I don't even get the couch tonight. I get the LOVESEAT. I'm 5'7" people. You've got to be KIDDING.

Get off of my back, stop sayin' that, Cause I’m not afraid a heights, I may never get where I’m goin', Yeah, but then again I might.

Oh, and by the way, I've got writer's block the size of Canada. This is serious, ladies and gentlemen. I haven't written SQUAT of anything good, meaning that I'm going to die very shortly if I can't think of SOMETHING. But I still have that problem where I can't get a beginning out. Dangit.

I know it’s a long way down,
But you can’t walk the wire,
For anybody else,
I might hit the ground,
But at least I’ll have a story to tell.
She said,
I gotta find out for myself.

Alice Cullen is NEVER wrong.

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/10/07)
“This hostage stuff is fun.” — Alice Cullen

Haha. I love Alice TO DEATH. If you don't like Alice, I truly think you are a heartless person who hates fun, love, and spikey hair.
I LOVE ALICE.
She's so spontaneous, ya know? She just kind of leaps out there and takes you totally by surprise. Plus, she sort of brought Edward back to Bella, and of course, making me ever in her debt, saved his immortal self.
Which, in it's self, is enough said. :)

My cousins are here, and my Cambodian wonder child would like me to inform you that she's a level nine in gymnastics --- Really getting up there. This makes me excited, though I haven't a rightful clue what it means, but she wanted to tell anyone who read her story, since she's VERY proud of that.

Sweet, darling Angela...

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/8/07) “Edward’s only human, Bella. He’s going to react like any other boy.” — Angela Weber

If only she had a clue. Hahaha.
You know, I really like Angela. She's one of those characters that you almost want to BE, while this whole thing's going on, and she's really sweet (as has been adknowledged by Bella AND Edward) and kind, which makes it even better. She's filling. Icing. Whatever.
Anyways, Talon has been slowly getting better, though I haven't written anything in a long time... Well, okay, in a little less than a week. But still. It feels like I'm missing an arm.
Jase makes me smile. But I can't do that intro. I'm firmly against making him the main character, even though it would be funny.
Sigh.
I read the first chapter of Midnight Sun again yesterday, getting back on the subject of TwiNeMoEcli. It really makes me just want to hug Edward, which I'd totally do anyways, even more than usual. He's so... vunerable. But at the same time, he was kind of hurt that she was doing that to him while he was, admittedly, planning her simple death.
That would suck, I really have to say.
Anyways. If you haven't read Midnight Sun, or you just want to renew your love for stone-cold sexiness, go to Stepheniemeyer.com. I'm too lazy to post a link. But trust me - It's worth it.

A full moon has NEVER been this tempting.

**Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/7/07) “Here’s the thing… I’ve already gone crazy once. I know what my limits are.” — Bella Swan

Yes, yes, she has. And you know what? I think she DOES know what her limits are. Just because, saying this again, she lost Edward --- She's been through a romance housefire, per say, where she's lost everything, gone through the depression where you want it back so badly, and then ended up finding her favorite necklace, the one that her favorite grandmother gave her (all figurative here. Necklace = Edward.) in her backpack all along.
That was a horrible metaphor, but the idea still stands.
I love her. But I swear, I will die if Edward ends up getting the boot or something in this next book. I do like Jacob, but I love Edward. Edward and Bella combined make the books way worth reading.

***Go HERE to read the first chapter of ECLIPSE.***

Excuse me, Ms. Meyer.

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/6/07) “I’m really glad Edward didn’t kill you. Everything’s so much more fun with you around.” — Emmett Cullen

Do you even SEE that?! "Edward didn't kill you"?! WHAT?!!!
I'm slightly concerned. Of course, Stephenie could be taunting us, and it's just that Edward got mad or something. Really. That sounds likely.
But on the other hand...
I WANT AN EDWARD QUOTE, dang it all. Or Bella ABOUT Edward. Not any more of this crap.
Ooohhh... What if Emmett's not talking to Bella....
[Add-in: Recognize the layout colors? Oh, yeah. I'm fluent in Blogger.]

All of You.

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/5/07)
“I don’t have any leeches on my speed dial.” — Jacob Black

Because, of course, that would be horrible.
Fireworks = Amazing. I met up with Amanda and her friend Ashley, and we sat on the back of Dad's pickup and watched the city fireworks. I wouldn't shut up, so I missed half of them.

7.04.2007

Happy Fourth of July!

***Eclipse Quote of the Day*** (7/4/07) “There’s something…strange about the way you two are together… The way he watches you—it’s so…protective. Like he’s about to throw himself in front of a bullet to save you or something.” — Renee Dwyer

Oh, yes. You really see that.
It's an Eclipse quote.
I'm not magic, nor do I ever actually intend to be, but this is an out-of-context quote from Eclipse, the third installment of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Series. And no, it's not made up.
Haha. Every day, on her site, until the day of the release, there's going to be a random quote from the book posted on her "News" section. Go see and adore. There's nothing more to say about that.
Enjoy. I thought you should know about the amazingness.

Verbatim

ver·ba·tim [ver-bey-tim]–adverb
1. in exactly the same words; word for word: to repeat something verbatim.

I was randomly thinking up titles today, and the word 'verbatim' popped up in my head. Not many have this kind of revelation, but for the story I was trying to put my hands on, I think it works perfectly.
The story is fairly easy to follow, which, I guess, could be a delima. But this is my second official shot at writing third person, and to my huge surprise, I'm loving every second of it.
But it wasn't the story that came to me. It was three hug-worthy characters.
I'll be the first to admit that my characters NEVER come easy. First the name, then the filling... You know the drill. It's usually me, trying to fit my characters into a story. For the first time ever, I'm building a story on incredibly amazing characters.
First, there's Katy. She's a very strong character, and my favorite out of anything so far. She's plain, with freckles on her nose, hazel eyes, and longer chestnut hair that's known to frizz out randomly. She's not skinny, really, but has an athletic build and doesn't look like the wind could knock her over. She's a pain in the butt to the people she doesn't care for, loves french vanilla anything, and never cries.
Then, I thought of Danny. Danny was a little bit harder, because while the person popped up in my head, he really didn't have a name until I kind of realized who he "was". Danny is Katy's "big brother" who loves Katy no matter what, including the fact that they aren't related. He's, literally, a guardian angel that no one, besides Katy, can see, who died in an accident when she was nine and he was seventeen. Katy was the only witness to that accident. He's brunette with gray eyes, stands a little over six foot, and is kind of lanky. He's very blunt and sometimes almost rude.
Jace came next, the final of my three main characters, or so it seems. He's Katy's best friend who likes to bake desserts and, when needed, goes beyond all boundries to help her out. She jokingly tells him he should've been gay, just because all the girls can't get enough of him or his cakes. He does have girlfriends, but they usually leave because they get annoyed at the time he spends with Katy. [No, Katy and Jace don't fall in love. :O] He's into bright colors, has a severe thing against wearing pink, has spikey, massively highlighted blonde hair, and is only a little taller than Katy. Oh, and he's very call-it-as-I-see-it.
And, to top it off, it's going to be called [po-see-blay] Verbatim, because it's about Katy remembering back to when she was little, when so many things happened that she suddenly seemed to forget, and step-by-step retracing her past with Danny, while digging up sudden shocking secrets and problems that pop up along the way, dragging both her and Jace [and whoever decides to show up] into a complete mess.
Anywho, I wrote the prologue -ahemahem- already, but I'm not giving it away, just because there's so many questions someone could ask about it that the story, if written right, should tell.

----
Chapter One:

Katy knew it was stupid, but it still felt like her guts had been pulled out. Curled up pathetically in the corner of the handicapped bathroom stall in the girls bathroom, she felt so incredibly lost.
Jase, Katy’s best friend, sat opposite of her against the stall door, his head leaning on his arm, his knees pulled up to his chest. They’d been like this for the whole of fourth period, just sitting there, every now and then with Jase spurting out something against Chris.
Jase sighed. “He was a jerk, Kat.”
She nodded glumly, and Jase went quiet. Katy never cried at anything, but he would found her sitting alone, deathly silent, if anything really bad had happened to her, and only rarely. In truth, she was the bravest person he knew.
This situation, he knew very well, would’ve led to some major tears from any other girl. For Katy, it was just a depressing silence that was, at least to him, worse than trying to console a crier.
Katy swallowed. “The party was tomorrow.”
Jase felt himself becoming more and more furious at Chris. The jerk had dumped his girlfriend a day away from their two year “anniversary,” just to go hook up with some lousy cheerleader he admitted to cheating with Katy on anyways.
And, of course, there was always that resentment he had towards anyone who left Kat with empty eyes that bore into him as he picked up the pieces. He hated that.
“I’m still bringing cake, as you well know.” He said, smiling weakly.
Kat rewarded his efforts with her own small smile. Jase loved to cook. He’d planned on making her a cake for her two years with Chris, as he had for every boyfriend or special event that arose, and obviously was now headed towards the idea of comfort food instead of celebrating something. There was no way you could stop him; he was a dessert baking freak.
“Thanks, Jase.”
“Anytime.”
A stall door slammed amongst the usual chatter of uncaring gossip and someone let out a annoyed high-pitched scream. “Is there a guy in here? Oh, gross! Get out, you perv!”
Jase’s expression turned from morose to wickedly amused in only points of a second. Without even turning around on the disgusting linoleum, he retorted, “Dana, no one in their right mind would try to be a pervert to you unless they were either mentally ill or gender confused.” Dana Leehaven squealed, sounding more like a pig on fire than an appalled Senior. “Well, seeing as how you’re gay and everything, Jase, I would expect that kind of expertise from a fruit like you.”
He rolled his eyes, and Katy smiled at her friend. He was completely unaware of how cool he was – that no matter what he did, he had a demeanor around him that just sucked everyone in to attention.
“Alright. Bathroom poll. Say “I” if you think I’m gay.”
A loud “I” erupted from Dana, but everyone else stayed hilariously quiet.
“And now say “you” if you think that Dana needs to keep her trap shut, go home, and take a long look in a mirror somewhere before accusing me of being gay.”
“Yous” bubbled up from all around the bathroom. Dana swore explicitly at Jase, who in turn, gave her the finger from under the stall door, and stomped angrily out into the breezeway.
“You know,” Katy informed her friend who was soaking up the applause that had began after Dana had left like a sponge, “being gay would completely suit you. Girls love you anyways.”
He grinned. “Yeah, but then you’d have to start sneaking into the guy’s bathroom to get a little uproar out of people.”

Ahhhh.... FREAK OUT!

No, but really. I just had this full-blown awesome dream that scared the CRAP out of me.
...And being smart, for once, I wrote it down. Well, the crap-scaring part, anyways. The other was about a prince who was going through all of this and came out better afterwords.

The people coming down the hill looked so familiar, and I panicked as I realized that I’d been here before; I’d done this all before. How was this key to what I was doing? What was going on? Why was I here?!
The people were dressed in black and crimson, the colors of the lost, the ones no one would ever see again. All of them had sticky tear trails down their faces, with new ones on the way. Moans of agony and pain refused to be stifled. Nausea hit me like a wall.
As the hundreds of black-and-red clad people proceeded down the hill, each one picked up a shovel and began digging. Digging body-sized holes to rest in underneath the old oaks at the bottom of the hill.
I kept running, but the sight wouldn’t vanish. They wouldn’t stop digging. It wasn’t a dream, it was a true-to-life nightmare.
They finished the holes, and as they did, someone shouted with… joy. Coming down the hill, the same way the others, the dead, had come down, there were children dressed in sky blue, laughing and running towards the others. Boys, girls; they were all making their way towards the doomed.
I tried to shout out and warn them, but it was like no one could hear me. I was muted among the outbursts of joy and the bubbling laughter.
When the children reached the grave-diggers, there wasn’t any yells or cries out to be saved from their soft mouths. Instead, the light blue children hugged the ones who were destined to live no more… And then vanished into thin air.
After all of the children were gone, the fated ones were smiling, their cries already forgotten, and gently, being done digging the holes, laid themselves down one final time.
I carefully picked my way to the scene, underneath the giant oaks, where a figure in a black cloak and crimson dress was sitting in her hole among all the others who lay still. She did not lie down, unlike the others, but watched me with invisible eyes as I walked around the burial site.
When I was no less than ten feet away, she took off her hood, revealing long, light blonde hair and a gentle smile. Her eyes were invisible no more, but a light, happy blue. And, stunning me the most, was that she looked no older than eighteen.
“Hello,” She said in a musical voice. “You seem quite upset.”
“Well, yes,” I stuttered. “I’ve just seen people die that were once alive. I knew those people.”
She nodded. “But you’ve also seen the people you’re to live with in the future. Those children you saw are the children that haven’t tasted life yet; they are the ones going to experience it very soon.”
She yawned, and began to lie down.
“Wait,” I cried. “Don’t you know what you’re doing? You’re too young!”
“Of course,” She said easily. “And it’s relief. The children who hugged us took away everything that has ever haunted us, pained us, or upset us. They took away the burdens of life, so we could rest without being haunted.
“As for dying, there is nothing to be afraid of. It comes as a great release, even for the younger.”
I gaped open-mouthed at her in horror. “But… You can’t go!”
“I must,” She said, laying all the way down. “It’s expected of me.”
I began to cry. “What about me, then? You’re leaving me!”
She leaned up again, and with an outstretched hand, brushed my tears away. “I’m happier here. Everyone is. I promise you with the deepest parts of my heart.”
With that, she lay back down and closed her eyes. With one final, gentle sigh, she was still.

Popping the Pills.

Talon looked hard at me, a hard smile on his face. “You’re not making this easy, are you?”
I groaned and let myself fall back onto the cot. “And you’re trying to kill me, aren’t you?”
He laughed dryly. “Not purposely, but yes, probably so. This life is... Well, it must be...”
“It’s harder than my old one, yeah.” I admitted for him. “But I think it’s harder for you to teach me how to live than it is to actually try.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Was that somewhat of a compliment?”
“Possibly. I wouldn’t push it.”
He chuckled, surprising me, and came over, sitting on the bed. “Look, I realize that we didn’t get off to the best start, and I do know what it feels like to be new to a place like this.” I tried to ignore the close proximity between us, and from the looks of it, so was he. “Truly, you’re not repulsive or completely undesirable, but...” He smiled regretfully. “You’re just not my kind of choice.”
Surprisingly, I felt a little twinge of hurt at his fair-enough statement, and looked over at the opposite wall. “I didn’t ask to be saddled with this kind of situation either.” I said, a little more gruffly than I meant.
“And I know that,” he countered lightly. “But clearly, we’ve got to make do. Erick and Vitali know what they’re doing,” He sighed. “Even if I don’t. But they’re honorable, and you’re in good hands. No one will question your identity too much if you’re my fiancée.”
I looked over at him incredulously. He’d said the “fiancée” word, for once, without spitting it, and even had a look on his face that resembled genuine kindness – the kindness you show friends of friends; distant but benevolent.
“Um, well, okay,” I babbled, “but people already are.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah,” I struggled not to panick. His average, normal, everyday good mood was throwing me off. The Talon I’d dealt with for the last few days wasn’t anything like this. “there was a whole group of people, well, actually just a woman and her twelve kids, protesting that I wasn’t really engaged to you because I didn’t have…”
A fatal blush creeped up in my cheeks as I stopped in my tracks.
“You didn’t have what?” He looked slightly annoyed. “There’s nothing that people in Jericho have that you shouldn’t, and whoever says differently is a liar.”
“…A wedding ring.” I finished lamely, closing my eyes. “It’s kind of stupid.”
There was a pause, and then I heard Talon laugh. “Actually… no, that’s not stupid.” he laughed again, and I opened my eyes. “I apparently don’t give people the credit they deserve; that was very observant, though on any other grounds, I would have probably had them confined until the wedding was over.”
“’On any other grounds?’”
He shook his head. “It’s nothing, really. Basically, we’re not having a wedding. On any other occasion, when two people are actually making the commitment, the bride usually doesn’t take well to people saying she isn’t legitimate. But that doesn’t matter now.” He closed his eyes and was still for a moment. When he reopened them, they were bright and mischevious. “Wait here,” He told me.

It's so freakishly awesome to be back home, let me just say. Oklahoma has NEVER looked so good. I mean, yeah, it's pretty in Europe, but when you're not with your family, it kind of kills the beauty a little bit.
So, as seen above, Talon is going through character PMS - Panicky Mood Swings - that are driving me crazy. I CAN'T MAKE HIM BE BAD-ish. At this point in the story, both Adele and Talon are supposed to be getting closer. I mean, he leaves in a WEEK, and it's the last day to go soft on her before he goes all mysteriously mean again.
Dangit. I don't know. Maybe he needs ANOTHER day.
Whatever. I've got him popping pills in the corner of my mind, while Adele's sitting there, laughing at him hysterically.
Maybe I can get this worked out. :E

FourdaysfourdaysfourDAYS!

Wow. Four days until the big... Eur-O?
Haha, whatever. It's going to be awesome.
Anyways, I've started working on some Scripty-thingy (which could posibly be considered cheating, but I don't care), just to play around with Celtx. It's amazing. Google it, or look on www.scriptfrenzy.org, and I swear you'll love it. Free download.
:D
Wow, I really just sounded like a computer advertisement.
So anyway, I'm completely (well, okay, maybe only 'mostly') packed for Europe, and I still feel like I'm missing something, which is NOT a good feeling to have when you're about to LEAVE. THE. COUNTRY.
Big breaths. I know.

Alright, well, I believe someone (see sidebar feed) is wanting me to post before I go, so I'm off to find something. Inspirational music, don't fail me now!

Yeah, so?

For one thing, the HWJH Academic Team is totally going to kick butt in high school... Even if we kind of got our pretty posteriors handed to us today.
We went into Brink Jr. High naked in knowledge. We hadn't had any practices, reviews, or anything that would even qualify as training, so we basically were on our own for the whole tournament --- four teams to face, meaning four rounds of intense loser-dom.
But no.
The first round was tense... At, no pun intended, first. We went through ten questions, in which each team could buzz in to try and get it right. When we reached lightning round (where the winning-so-far team goes first, picks a category, and answers as many questions as they can cram into a minute), everything changed.
It began when the other team made us go first (suckers...), and our category was "Capital Cities."
No big, right? WRONG.
They didn't give you the state. Ohhh, no. They gave you the river it was by, or how it was founded, or whatever else involved long words and intense listening skills. As team cap-i-tan (scary story --- I was elected five minutes into the first round), I had to say either the answer or pass.
There was only ONE time when we DIDN'T say pass. Pheonix, I really owe you.
Continuing.
What reallyreallyreally got the whole HWJH team to have fun, was when one of the other teams lightning questions was something involving Lake Titicaca.
I swear, we all just about lost it.
It wasn't that we're all perverted, or just happen to be the type who laugh at anything, but we were really tense, and that was just one of those things that really made us all let it out. :D

Awesome.

Anyways, we lost - big time. But we had the most freakishly awesome fun out of any team there.

Um... You can't guard colors...

That was something one of my friends in Guard was talking about. Her friend had said "Why do they call it Color Guard? You guard colors?" and she responded "Um... You CAN'T guard colors, dorkface."
I love my Guards.
Kari tried to help me do a drop-spin, which is when you twirl it upside down and catch it in the same position, which, uh, yeah, is pretty darn close to impossible for me. I'll get it, but for now...
Ouch. A lot of hitting my own face with a flag pole.
I can't wait to be a senior, and help the freshman do drop-spins, and laugh when I can do them flawlessly and theirs hit them.
"Wow," I'll say. "Deja vu."
And then, of course, I'll help them more. :D

Yayyy!
:D

Ewan McGregor is amazing

And that's all there is to it. (:

Just for Anna: Moulin Rouge is a movie about (pardon the language) a whorehouse, and the star of it who falls for this writer. It's PG-13, but it's kind of provacative. :/
I love it though. If anything, I'll post a link to some of the songs --- Once again, Ewan McGregor is amazing - Even when he sings. ♥

Countdown Until Paradise In The Upmost Form: 16 DAYS.

5.12.2007

Inner Thoughts of the Week.

So, I was getting really depressed for a while, but I promise, it's not anything to freak out about. It just kind of happens every now and then. ;)
Charles is on drugs. He told me, and now he denies it, but I believe it. Still.
AND THEN, I felt absolutely horrible because I've been blowing off some friends for a while. PLUS (on a laughing note) I ACTUALLY EMAILED MS. ANNAPANTS!
Anyways. Inner thoughts. Gotcha.
Number one, it's very hot. It got up to NINETY today, and that's without Heat Index. Uggghhh... Our AC isn't working right now, either. Hothothot.
Another, I really blew off this year. I can't do that anymore. This is HIGH SCHOOL, and someone, somewhere, needs to hit me upside the head with a book and make sure I do everything I need to. C'mon, Lauren.
Europe's in 17 days. That makes me happy. I can't celebrate my birthday this year, though, for the second year in a row. I don't think that my parents understand that having fun somewhere on my birthday doesn't make up for not having a cake, ect. I like having a birthday, thank you very much, and it really seems like it's kind of just... there now. No party or anything after Euro. either. Sigh.
I'm calling Anna tomorrow, which is SUPER. I was going to today, but thought she was an hour behind me, so when I worked up the courage (I'm a wuss, haha), it was actually too late.
Emmmkay. I'm done. :)

Love, L.

"I'll be there, by your side..."

Moulin Rouge. Awesome movie.
Anyways.

Working on the story more. I think the only reason I even kept up with writing is because of you guys. (:

5.10.2007

Enjoy.

It's posted and ready to read! [See the sidebar --- It has the link to Writing Rants!!!]
Yeah, so.
I'm sitting in Journalism class, doing something beyond absolutely nothing. Six minutes until lunch, yum, and I'm ready for Color Guard practice tonight until five.
Ahhh, happiness. (:

Lovelovelove,

5.09.2007

COMING TOMORROW:

Another excerpt that leads off from the cliffhanger.
:D
I was almost tempted to put it in someone else's POV, but then I figured that if I didn't tell Anna, she'd die and I'd be held responsible for her death. *Blank stare*
SO, no surprises tomorrow. At least none in the "WHAT?!! THIS ISN'T WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE POSTING!" nature. :)
Promise.

It may be posted waaayyy early in the morning CST, or in between 11:00 and 11:55 in the morning. :)
If something prohibits me from doing either, I'll post it tomorrow night.

IT WILL BE UP!

WHEWT.

You know, it feels pretty awesome-crazy to have people reading things you write. You all make my day so much better. :D
ANYWAYS. I didn't post to dwaddle.... Or did I?
A few things before I get to the main part of this.
Firstly, COUNTDOWN TO EUROPE: 21 DAYS! Secondly, you'll never believe this, but I'm going out for Moore High School's Color Guard. In most schools, it's pretty dorky, but I want to do something and with this new zero-hour policy I can't do sports.
So, hence I will be a flag-twirler. :D

ALRIGHT.
Ready?
Yeah, totally, I know.

Continuing from last post:
"...After all, you and Talon are supposedly engaged, and you’re the lovely bride.”
When Erick had successfully made sure that I was in my chair, he rejoined the dancing, swaying around with various girls, acting more as a jester than a forty-seven-year-old man. I watched him, brooding over what he’d just told me, unconsciously picking at my dress. My eyes raked across the dance floor, picking out the different colors of gowns, who was wearing them, and who was dancing with the gown-wearer.
Eventually though, I ended up thinking about what my life really was. Obviously, my family thought I was killed in some kind of freak accident because my demensional body, the one I was used to having, was long dead.
I shuddered. I was dead because someone up in who-knows-where had wanted me to be a Traveler.
So then, what was I, if I wasn’t alive? I’d asked Erick about it before, but he’d only said that...
“Lady Samantha, why are you wearing white?”
I jumped as I was ripped out of my own little world, then smiled at the child in front of me. She, herself, had to be ten years old, wearing a black gown and a princess crown, meant for adornment of the future ladies rather than nobility.
“What do you mean?” I asked, confused but almost happy to have some other conversation besides talking to myself.
“You’re wearing white, the color of avalibility, when the color of the house is black.”
I looked at her blankly, and she went further in depth. “When you get engaged, you wear the color of the house. It lets people know that you’re taken by someone from that status. I’m Merian Zavian, Dante’s fiancee and your soon-to-be sister-in-law.” She smiled a big toothy grin.
I stared at her in disbelief. She was so young. “You’re getting married? But... How old are you?” I blurted.
She didn’t really understand what I was talking about, I could tell by the way she looked at me, but she answered anyway. It sounded like she was the older one here, and I was the one being scoffed at.
“I’m nine. I’ll be ten in forty-three days. Most people are usually married by the time they’re eleven. I’ve been engaged to Dante’ since I was six months old.”
I tried not to let it show on my face the horror that statement sent shivering through me. I pitied the girl, and was even considering shaking whoever had invented that tradition by the neck, but she was beaming like it was the best thing in the world. I smiled weakly. “That’s great, Merian. I’m very glad to have met you.”
“As well am I, and I can’t wait until we’re officially family. Anyway, Dante’s probably getting impatent.” she said, and with that, she smiled and left me, as quickly as she'd appeared, to dither in my own thoughts.
How sick and twisted, I thought bitterly, but at the same time, this was the norm for them. I had noticed, when looking around, that there was almost no one sitting with me on the chairs that lined the side of the room, and Merian’s statement about eleven being the normal age to get married explained why.
At the same time, though, it left a major question open: why wasn’t one of the most highly sought after bachelors, Talon Cavalay, married at nineteen? Even if he was a new specimen of jerk, he was still highly ranked in a list of beautiful people.
I sighed, and finally hunted out the two most stunning people in the ballroom just out of curiosity. Annisa was talking animatedly, and Talon was laughing at her, swirling her around like she was Cinderella.
I stood up and made sure that I wasn’t being watched. I was so sick of being the observer when happy things happened and not being able to interfere with the balance; to throw myself into the crowd, blend in, and have some kind of chance at a little of the fun.
But I couldn't. Ever. As a Traveler, I was destined to sit on the sidelines and complain as my whole self-being fell apart with the gloom.
I didn’t care that my fake fiancee was dancing with a completely gorgeous witch. It was the atmosphere in the room that was crushing me.
My whole intent was to go back to the palace by myself. I knew I would be close to the only “Lady” there who wasn’t still dancing, but it was worth it if I could cry myself to sleep and get rid of the numbness that came with not belonging where I was.
I walked around the floor, making sure that no one noticed that I was alone and headed in a beeline towards the door.
A stabbing pain hit me three quarters of the way around the room, and my vision blurred as I began seeing tiny dots of assorted colors.
"What the..." I said frantically, not seeing any assassins around who were out to get revenge on Talon. I couldn’t breathe, and when I looked down to see a red stain blossoming on the side of my beautiful dress, tears filled my eyes. I couldn’t think of anything except for the fact that the one dress that I’d ever worn that would ever qualify as a wedding dress was ruined.
Someone shrieked my name, but I couldn’t see who from the way my vision was clouding up. What had just happened? Was I getting ready to jump? Was I dying this time – For real?
I purposely didn’t try to stop myself from passing out. If there was anyway I could possibly avoid feeling the pain of my lungs, seeing my stained dress, and tasting the bile that had risen in my throat, it was fainting.
That, luckily, was something I found that I was still able to do.

I'm in love...

With this story.

So it didn't come ot me in a dream, or even math class for that matter, but I was randomly listening to music and a song that reminded me of one of a Cinderella/Beauty & The Beast Ball scenes came on. I was writing something that had kind of "hit mind", and I instantly had a thought of the girl I was writing about dancing with the guy that she had to pose as "engaged" with, when they actually start playing nice.
Henceforth.
Has anyone read the Pendragon series? To me, that's kind of what it is, but with wayyy different rules and almost no restrictions.
Anywho.
Before I post this, I've got to tell you that I don't, under most circumstances, start writing something from the beginning. I have, many times, but lately it's just been bits and pieces of close to nothing that I'll scrawl down or cram into my USB. Choppy, I know. Unorganized, of course. Awesome, you bet. :)

Here's the first part --- The one I don't favor as much, that I was writing before the sappy song came on
With pale skin, dark hair, and piercing brown eyes, Talon wasn’t someone that you would normally approach for anything, but here I was, doing exactly that… In secret.
“I don’t believe I gave anyone permission to be allowed into my room.” He suddenly said, his voice cold, not turning around from the pillow he was lounged on. “I hope you really meant to commit suicide.”
I inwardly paniked. There had been rumors about his no-mercy rules and if they were true, I was pretty well dead.
Two guards crawled up out of the window behind me and grabbed my arms, one shoving his hand over my mouth.
Of course. I’d been seen. If Regan hadn’t taken my equpiment, this wouldn’t have happened. I’d kill him when I got back… If I ever did.
“Sir, what do you want us to do with her?” The scrawny, bird-nosed one asked rather happily. I glared at all of them.
Talon chuckled, casually turning around. “Oh, I don’t…” He frowned and took a few steps closet to me, recognition haunting his eyes. “You’re joking.”
“What is it, my lord?” The other one, shady with a stout form, asked, bending down to look at me. “Is it because she’s a girl?”
Talon waved his hand, blowing them off. “No, and I wouldn’t call it a girl. Let go of her and leave us alone.”
“Yes, sir.” Both guards retreated out the door as Talon moved to the farthest pillow away from me. “Sit down.”
I scowled and ignored him, checking my knees instead. My right one, the leg I’d slipped on, was bloody, tiny rocks embedded in the skin.
“You’re hurt.” Talon said, sighing.
I shook my head and sat down, biting back a yelp. “I’ll be fine.” My voice was bitter, and his eyebrow rose.
--

And really, I don't have a CLUE whether that's going to even touch the same story that this one is. I completely changed the plot. [Not that there is one anyways...]

I looked up at him, confused and appalled. “What’re you doing?”
A gleam of amusement lit his eyes. “I’m inviting you to dance with me. One dance, and you can go back to sitting here and looking like you’d rather be somewhere else. Hasn’t anyone ever asked you before?”
No, they hadn’t. But he didn’t need to know that.
“But…”
“But what?” He had a familiar resilient look around him. “Dancing doesn’t mean we’re in love, Samantha.”
I hesitated, noticing the crowd around watching us like hawks, and sighed. “Alright.”
Taking my right hand, he pulled be out of the chair and guided me to the floor. I was shaky at first, as he moved me hands to where they were supped to be, one reaching up to his shoulder and the right one staying where it was, enclosed in his own hand. His left hand rested on my waist and I suddenly grew nervous as he started guiuding me around.
It truly wasn’t the first time I’d danced, but before, it had been with guys who thought they were going to get something from me back in my own world or demension, or whatever it was, and, by far, the person I was dancing with had never ever been this dangerous. Not to mention that we were, as far as the public was concerned, engaged.
But, as Talon had said, dancing didn’t mean anyone was in love.
“Relax,” He whispered, chuckling. “I haven’t hurt you yet; you can trust me.”
I actually smiled, despite my best efforts, as he took complete control. He danced like no one else I’d met, and the close proximity between us began to slowly disappate in my mind as we glided around the floor.
Trust Talon. Who would have thought, only weeks ago, that I’d be dressed in the most beautiful dress ever imagined, stuck in a warped period, dancing with what had started out as my enemy.
The song passed, but neither one of us made a move to exit the floor. Another song, another dance, and more. Both of us stayed quiet except for his occasional chuckle when I stepped on his feet.
Halfway through the third song, I did something completely second-nature and moved my left hand from his and wrapped it around the other side of his neck and leaned on him.
He stiffened up for a minute, then pulled my hands back with a smile that didn’t reach his stony eyes.
“Sorry.” I whispered.
“I can’t let you do that.” He whispered back, strained. “You’re too close.”
I nodded and looked down at my hands.
“You need not apologize, though.”
I half-smiled up at him, feeling stupid. “Thanks.”
He nodded and looked distractedly away at an approaching figure who obviously had been trailing us, then seeing us stopping, had decided to approach.
“My lord,” She said sweetly, curtsying.
I felt myself get disgusted. Anissa, her skin startling against her white gown, stood beside Talon, ignoring me as much as possible.
Talon turned to her and smiled polietly. “Lady Anissa, what can I do for you?”
She didn’t even glance at me and kind of giggled in a bashful-little-girl-who’d-been-dared-to-ask-her-crush-out way. “I would consider it an honor if you would grace me with a dance, Talon. What does a lady have to do to get the most handsome person here to herself for a while?”
He looked back at me, I could feel it, but I was already turned around and headed back to my spot.
In all, I didn’t look at Talon for the rest of the night. I really didn’t care enough. Erick danced with me several times, surprising me that he had that much energy, grinned like an idiot and told me that he thought I was gorgeous a thousand times, and actually, that was close to being the high-point of the whole night. He made me laugh, and I really needed it afer my Talon encounter.
“Loosen up a little, Samantha. You seem very tense about something.” He finally said. “Can I help?”
I looked at him and saw the knowledge of another Traveler, one who’d accepted the kind of life he was going to live.
I took a big breath and stopped dancing. He followed suit and looked at me solemnly.
“You never told me much about being a Traveler,” I explained, and he frowned.
“Let’s take this outside. People will begin to talk if we don’t.” He said, and escorted me outside with all the grace of an actual Arvian citizen.
“Now tell me, what’s bothering you about that?”
I sighed. I really didn’t know how to say it. “I guess the whole concept of jumping.” I tried to clarify. “You know, changing eras, demensions, or whatever.”
He smiled warmly. “Sam, you’re taking this all too seriously. You’re only a, what, junior in high school? This is your new life – you jump from plane to plane, most of it things that no one would even think about existing, and learn by trial and error. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
“And what doesn’t make me stronger kills me.” I said dully. “But that’s not my problem. How do you control your jump?”
He was quiet for a minute, and when he looked at me, it was with sad eyes. “I’m sorry, Sam. I can’t tell you that, because I really don’t know. I think that you randomly skip around whenever whatever forces control Travelers decides until you’re ready to be replaced. And when it gets to be that time, I think you just stop jumping. You stay where you are and you become one of the people around you.” He stopped and took a drink, gazing out over the dark blue sky.
“It’s truly a coincidence that you happened to jump to my plane, Sam. When you showed up in Harlan’s house, it was complete luck that I saw you before anyone else did. Otherwise, you would have had to fend for yourself and discover everything that Travelers are supposed to know on your own. I had to until my third jump. By then, I think I caused more problems than I solved.”
I looked down at the marble under my feet, then back up at Erick. “What if I wanted to stay somewhere? What if I ended up having a family and relationships and a normal life there?”
He shrugged. “I don’t know what would happen, except that you would leave and they’d still be there.”
He looked over at me, his eyes wistful. “Don’t fall in love, Sam. It hurts too bad to leave and come back, only to find out that they don’t even know you.”
He sighed, took another swig of his drink, and smiled again. “Well, I’ve kept you out here long enough. There’s probably a line of people waiting to dance with you.”

Boys Suck.

This whole thing with ice skating and Chris is killing me. I'm trying to apologize as best as I can without talking to him, since he won't slow down to talk, but Audrey's literally trying to bring back up this whole six-month crapload of ERG.
Morgen and I didn't talk at all today.
I swear, I'm beginning to think he liked me when both of us were avalible.
We weren't friends, obviously.

Agh. Blah day. Let me tell you. x.x

♥...? I Didn't Think So.

So, I was going to do a whole post on the amazingness of the zoo, but I just started thinking about a conversation that a couple of friends and I have had, and it's really bugging me. Bear with me, I'm ranting.
Daniel, a friend I've known since fourth grade, has asked me out at least four times. I told him no. The reasons were fairly simple, and I'm still not having any regrets, but they concerned that he constantly had to have a girlfriend, no matter who it was [he's dated a streetwalkerish girl before for a day, so I know what I'm saying here], and he's dated one of my -usedtobe- best friends in the world, Kim. She was his first girlfriend, and I know he's sweet and all, but it's like I was second-ranked. Even if he was the first guy to ever tell me I was beautiful [in those exact words, after a pool party at Kim's house before they started going out], he quit trying to love me because I was scared [I did have a crush on him at the time], and moved on to her.
Charles, on the other hadn, I can summarize in about two words: too perverted. He dated Kim, too [in fact, that's why she broke up with Daniel - to go out with him], and ASKED her to go makeout with him at his parents house. Again, I had a crush on him and fell into second place. Even if he hadn't done the pervert stuff, I doubt I would've thought twice about saying no.
Both of those guys were my friends for a verrryyy long time. Still are, in fact, even though Charles moved to North Carolina and is supposedly on drugs and dating a seventeen-year-old.
And then, bam, wham, Morgan comes along. I met him last year, where we instantly started to hate eachother and fight over the internet, but didn't come to really know any of him until this year. He asked me out over the summer, through IM, and I'm a very sappy freak who believes in "ask it to my face", and I didn't know him anyways, so I laughed it off. No big. This year, he became one of my best friends of all time, but started asking me out again. I turned him down again and again, convinced that he was just another best friend who wanted me to be his second choice [he had a MAJOR crush on Kim over the Summer, which kind of didn't help the deep depression that I was working on]. I joked about it with Casey, and we blew it off easily every time.
Then, Morgan met Crystal.
[I used to like Crystal. I thought we were friends. Then along came Jr. High. That has absolutely nothing to do with this, though.]
Crystal threw Morgan for a loop: She WANTED to go out with him. After at least a year and a half of chasing Kim without avail, and another half year spent convincing me that we could be more than best friends, he decided that Crystal, in all of her emolicious-glory and bad-attitude rebelliousness, was the one for him. They're still dating.
I don't know what happened, but it's like he's not even there anymore. We don't talk much, don't give eachother a passing glance, or even smile. He hangs out with them, I hang out with the people that I went to elementary school with [half of them are mysteriously non-friendly around me anymore]. Whenever we try to talk in Math, the only class we have together, I can't look at him and he kind of beats around a subject. I didn't know he'd even started dating Crystal until a week after, when I was raging to Chasity about how he wasn't on speaking terms with me and she explained.
You know it's gotten bad when you're jealous and hurt because the perfect girl for him took the guy you won't date, though you know you love him.
Which almost makes no sense, but stands true anyways.
I sound like a bad romance novel. Sorry. I really am happy and smiley and all, but I was just thinking about that and had to type it all out to get it out of my system.
The Zoo was AMAZING. Bats are incredible. :D

"Hollywood Hoedown, HIT THE GROUND!"

The play was some of the most fun I've had this year, though practice was horrid, even after our first "dress rehersal" preformance. I neeeeed to post pics, I know, I know. I'm working on it.
Speaking of, someone in Drama/Choir stole my camera.
...THE camera that I was taking to Europe.
I hope they realize that I'm going to hunt them down and beat them with a very strong stick.

I'm tired. This thing totally drained me.
I'M GOING TO THE ZOO ON SUNDAYYY!

J/L

4.24.2007

TWO DAYS.

Until I fall on the ground and beg the audience to take pity on poor Cindy Lou, aka me. I'm STRESSING.
But that's alright. I'll survive. Hopefully. :]
Anyways, I've been writing again. It's not much, though, but I'll Writingrant-ify it when I finish a few pages. I would work on it now, in Yearbook, like I usually do, but I'm retarded and forgot the USB at home.
Speaking of, tornadoes tonight is what it's looking like. Forecaster said it was looking like it was heading down the highway, the same path the other 2 tornadoes that really did a heckuvalot of damage came down, so Michael was dead scared this morning and didn't want to go to school.
I hate tornadoes.
IF I DIE, YOU MUST COME TO MY FUNERAL.

Keep Smiling... I will!

Dundundundunnnnn:

W00t. Depressing week - OVER.
Those billions of e-cards helped, like, a lot. :D
[thankyouuu]

I know, short post. I'm too hyped up on weekend juice to really and truly care right now, though. Haha.

12:34

And I'm stilllll awake. Haha.
I had a better day today... I think. I'm feeling MUCH better than yesterday and practice... Well, nevermind. Practice was ridiculous and I learned that I'm dumb [[according to a few select teachers]], but hey. It's high school.
I can't wait for the musical to be over.
Anyways, I've been writing more, but I don't know where I'm exactly headed. Obviously, I'm writing about a major character in the plot -durr-, but the plot itself isn't totally original, though I love it to shreds: WWIII. {they don't call it World War Three --- It's "The Revolution".}
I don't know. I got the basis off of Red Dawn's beginning.
This is, literally, everything in the word document that I've been writing this in:

---
I could start this off by telling you that my name is Melanie James, but I have a feeling that by the time I’m done telling this story, there’s already going to be too many lies to count, so I won’t. Instead, I’ll tell you the basic details about me; the ones that haven’t been marred with some sort of cover-up.
Most people call me Melanie. For everyone else, I go by a name that can’t be spoken or written without government consent, and I don’t think they’d beam with pride if I asked them for permission to state it in something that I’m already writing without their knowledge, and intend, if the war gets any worse, for others to see.
There’s a lot I can’t clearly explain without getting myself in undefined territory. For example, the reasons I’m a straight connection with the government, but live in a unprotected community like any other, why I’m going to a public school that while normal to the naked eye, is actually anything but, or even, if you want to delve down into the minds of the government, which I’m sure, if anyone else reads this, you’ll want to do anways, why they’ve entrusted a seventeen-year-old girl with information that not even parts of congress know.
In fact, I’ve been really contemplating that last secretive fact lately. I guess that when you’re imprisoned in an enemy camp, though, and fearing for your life, no matter what your translator says, you do start to question the things that once were certain.

There’s not five words that could fully embody the characteristics and personality of Melanie James. Sure, there probably was at one time, and I’m pretty certain that there’s many people that could try and come up with some, but I can say without a doubt, that they don’t ring true anymore, except possibly one; traitor.
---

The last part is either another try at a prologue (which the first one accidentally turned into - whoops), or the beginning of the first chapter. I don't have a CLUE!
:D
THAT, my dahling, is what spur-of-the-midnight is! Bwahaha!

I love...

ANNA! :D

Sick Days

I love sick days. I get to stay home and be bored [AND sick] for a whole day.
Of course, seeing as how we have EOIs tomorrow, I need the rest. Musical rehersal is making me die a little inside everytime I have to go, but hey. Preformance is next Thursday, 7pm, at Central. OwOw.
Just... Don't expect the worlds most amazing world actors. Sure, we have to be to memorize all these lines in the alloted time, but trust me, it won't show on stage.
Katharine McPhee's blasting. "Trying to drag me down and fill me with self doubt, oh, and that's why..."
Yeah. Anyways.
I'm going to write for most of the day, though I should be learning my lesson and doing all my lines so she doesn't tell us that the fricking musical is going to suck.
Again.

Yahh, wjatheva.

Lauren Reynolds, ladies and gentlemen.

The last two days have literally been my personal trial by fire. I can't take any more of this ambassadorial drama, and the stupid leader that caused it doesn't care enough to write to us about the problem is the PRIMARY leader, meaning that this Europe trip could possibly suck on ice.
I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm hacked right now, and everything that comes out of my brain is spewing out faster than I can type.
I once knew a guy who I really loved with all of my heart, who could talk as eloquently as a freaking journalist. He debated, wrote, and was amazingly fun, but never, even when he got into criminal situations, lost his eloquence of speech.
Whatever. Back on some sort of new topic...
I've been kind of disconnected from the outside world for the last month. It's a pain to try and write to everyone, especailly when I don't have anything to say that hasn't already been said.
