So Prettily is Really a Word...

Jacob Mann taught me this today. I was very disbelieving.

JEEZ. SECOND POST.
I think you all should just start checking behind the current 'most recent' post. There's always going to be more, or at least, usually.

My brain doesn't function normally, I don't think. It must be the insomnia.

So I started on my Male POV, and wanted to share my favorite line so far. Basically, if you've read this far, it's because of a single sentence. Be prepared to be awed (ha, ha).

Harper smiled serenely. “Anyway, I have the perfect plan. You all will be ninjas.”

Yeah.

That's right.

NINJAAAAH.

Suzie-Post

She's my lover.

Anyway, today was practically uneventful. I have no homework for the first time in ever (SHOCK!), but I DIDN'T GET TO TALK TO ANYONE because we went to Shawnee to see my Uncle Glenn and his daughter, our 'cousin', Karen. (She's not our age - she's actually older than my dad. Put 'great' in front of those titles, and you get how they're actually related.) It was way fun, and Karen has an IPhone (JEALOUS) that I got to mess around with.

I want one.

Unoriginal Thought of the Year

It's eleven fifty p.m., and I'm sitting here thinking about ways to convert things on DVD to blogger format.

What if we messed around YouTube style, but on Blogger where we're a lot less public? We could have our own blogger/freewebs/whatever page for it.

Of course, this was Anna's idea from a LONG time ago, when we were still tykes and dealing through emails every other day, the size of seven-inch thick novels, so it's kind of been out there for a while.

I don't know. I'm randomly bubbling.

This is my third post after everyone's gone to sleep. See what happens?!

You know...

Now that I'm done freaking out over him, I feel really weird.

Like...free but all mixed up.

I mean, seriously. It's rejuvinating and hurtful all at once.

Which feels pretty darned funky.

My Homework: Fahrenheit 451 Narrative

“When you’re quite finished, you’re under arrest.”
The Captain spoke with a kind of amused and detached authority, as if he were only joking from one fireman to another, though my stomach knew that it wasn’t the case. Just the smoldering heap behind them, what used to be a house, proved it.
The man, called Montag if the crowd had heard right, stood there silently, helplessly, watching his life and books burn.
My heart went out to Montag; my last husband had been a librarian and reckless book-lover back in the days when it was still legal, and had ended up as a fiery bust of ashes into the midnight sky, God rest his soul. He’d burned with his beloved books, speaking Islamic faith passages about God as he did so. When I’d remarried, it was to a contractor who believed in the power of blueprints and computer screens instead of the printed word. I had always been indifferent to books, though silently opposed to those who wouldn’t leave those who still treasured them alone.
Three thirty in the morning, so it was, and yet, as tired as I felt, I knew that there was a remaining sleepless night ahead of me.
The rest of the crowd slowly fell away behind me as the house smoked, but I felt compelled to stay; I was there for the whole thing.
“Was it my wife that turned in the alarm?” Montag asked after several uneven tries. For such a strong man, he seemed so weak and torn, though for good reason.
The Captain nodded, and proceeded to talk about the foolishness of both Montag and the books, and how the world was just fine without them. More than once the Captain insulted Montag, though he just took the blows without so much as flinching.
Montag tilted his head, almost imperceptibly, and just as quickly as it happened, Montag was reeling backward from the force of a punch straight from the Captain.
I felt my eyes widen in shock. Now here was a twist to the everyday tale of the house-burning, book-owning scenario that I’d not only seen many times, but had lived through.
Quickly, before Montag could recover, he reached out, picking up something that, from my yard, was practically invisible.
The Captain said something roughly, tucking the small object into a pocket.
“No!” The disgraced fireman cried out.
I watched, breathless, as the Captain’s eyes flickered to the flame thrower, caused by a trigger movement on Montag’s part that I had missed.
Seconds ticked by unnervingly before anyone did anything, the air thick with tension and the smell of burning wood. When they did, it was a relaxed smirk from the Captain.
“Well, that’s one way to get an audience. Hold a gun on a man and force him to listen to your speech.” The Captain rambled on, my eyes burning from the effort it was taking not to blink, in fear that something else might happen. “Go ahead now, you second-hand litterateur, pull the trigger.” The Captain stepped forward arrogantly.
My heart rate accelerated.
“We never burned right…” Montag said, almost wistful.
The Captain, confident – too confident, in my opinion – smiled wickedly. “Hand it over, Guy.”
Before I could truly process what was happening, a ball of fire lashed out at the Captain, along with a loud shriek as he was consumed by the starving mass of flame. He crumpled to the ground, the odor of burning flesh tingeing the air.
Bile rose in my throat, but I could not look away as Guy Montag, believer in the truth of books, knocked the two other firemen unconscious.
For a moment, as I clutched my hand over my mouth, all seemed silent.
Montag turned in time to hear the bounding leaps, the almost-growl of the Mechanical Hound; the same one that the oldest captain, before the one killed that night, had brought with him to fetch my husband.
I prayed that it couldn’t sense fear.
It was almost graceful, that bulk of machinery, and I had to turn away as it leaped at Montag, one of the people it was meant to obey; to listen to.
I heard a slam, as if it had tackled Montag to the ground, and then another, and after a loud shout, a series of several more loud ones, and then the smell of a clean kind of fire, almost metallic.
My brain played with the sounds, forming them into different outcomes, and scaring me enough that even if what had happened was horrible, it couldn’t be any worse than my own imagination.
I turned around.
Guy lay on the ground, by the tree in what had once been his yard. He looked dazed and stunned, like he wasn’t exactly sure of what had just happened, though whenever he adjusted his leg, he winced.
Maybe the animal had gotten him, then.
Yet when I looked closer, I could see the charred remains of its spidery legs and mechanical entrails scattered across the yard.
Montag attempted to stand, but failed. “Come on!” he shouted. “Come on, you, you can’t stay here!”
His second try worked better, though the pain obvious in both his vehement curses and crippled actions proved that it was not easy for him.
People began to come out again, and I hoped I didn’t look too obviously consumed with his challenge. They shouted at him, tried to get his attention, but he just kept moving, cursing, and stumbling, before long disappearing completely into the darkness of the morning.

Suffocation.

But really, it's not that bad.
[& scratch the rule in last post for today.]

So I was thinking, on the bus, and it dawned on me that I'm just being used. Again.

Jessica, who had no prior knowledge about what Daniel's been saying about Morgan loving Kim still, said that this girl from Westmoore who's friends with Morgan thought she was Kim about two weeks ago, and came up to her and said "Morgan heard that you and your boyfriend broke up and he's going to ask you out!" before she found out that she wasn't talking to Kim.

& I was like, Oh.

Hm.

And then I got to thinking about it on the bus.
And it occurred to me that everytime a guy is interested in me, it's for jealousy purposes.
And that this time, I was kind of convinced that he wasn't.
And he was.
And now I have to get over it.

Those awkward hugs and silences are making a lot more sense.

But no worries.

I've gotten over boys before, for the same reason.
Except... This one might take a little longer, because he's the first one I thought wasn't lying.

Ugh, it makes me sick.

2.24.2008

I Don't Speak French

Girls Aloud or something.

Whatever.

Anyways, I'm in a blah mood. I've firmly decided against doing that freaking retarded detention, by the way, and also am on a 'not-discussing-Morgan-on-the-blog-like-an-obsessive-fangirl' diet until at least March.

AT LEAST.

kthankyou.

New 'The Batterys Down' video on the first, also, so go check it out.

AND PRAY FOR ME.
I PRESENT MY POWERPOINT TOMORROW.

2.23.2008

My House

Okay. Break it down.

*starts rapping*

So over at mah house dere were dese...

*stops.*

Forget it.

----

OKAY.

*TO* break it down, everyone showed up, PLUS one extra that Morgan happened to bring along, who's name escapes me, which made it kind of awkward (but whatever) and left around four. Daniel stayed until nine, ate dinner, and left, and Caleb left at four thirty for work.

It was okay.

And yet again, it's been established that I suck tremendously at Guitar Hero.

But I got to see Morgan!!
(AndCalebandDaniel)

UNDEPRESSED!

SCREW BRONSON.
I'm having a good moment. Like, uber good.

In order:
  • I went to see The Mystery of Edwin Drood. It was awesome. Amanda was brilliant.
  • Daniel called, we confirmed, and he told me he & Caleb were showing up tomorrow at two.
  • He was like "I'll call Caleb, you call Morgan" and I was like... "...Mm. Okaay."
  • So I called Morgan RIGHT THEN. I have guts, kthanks.
  • Officially, he's wearing his tight rocker jeans tomorrow. He *made* me pick them out...?
  • EVERYONE IS COMING AND I'M HYPER AND I'M SO EXCITED.

I've missed those losers. :D

I Hate You: A Letter To A Teacher

Apparently, I'm the worst student ever, and you know what? I don't care anymore! I'm so tired of trying to impress you, and having you shove complete GARBAGE under my face and harass me about it.

I hate you.

I will be proud to tell you that I got a perfect score on my Writing EOIs. You will be the first to give me the lowest mark in the class. I will be happy to make up work. You're making me redo work I've already done. I WILL be the first to tell you that I don't like involving home-life with school-life. You're going to make that all change.

I hate you.

Look, okay? I'm not going to do the punishment you gave me. I will make up the ONE worksheet I owe, but nothing more. It's your fault, it's my time, and you know what, I'm going to stop wasting it on you. You're worthless, as both a teacher and a person.

I hate you.

I am so sick of your snide comments about what I'm eating, about my drama roles, and about my habits - but mostly, I'm so sick of the way that I try to do something right, and you sit there and ignore it, bringing up something that I supposedly didn't do right without giving me a clue as to what it is.

I hate you.

You heard the stutter when I talked; you heard the nervous laugh. You knew I was trying not to cry - I saw it in your eyes! Yet again, you sat there and criticized me. Is that what you're paid for?! To put kids down and make sure they won't achieve!?

I hope you enjoy my disjointed words, my wandering mind, and my horrid diction. Who gave you the power to grade my thoughts?

I can't tell you how much I hate you.

Because obviously, according to you, I cannot write.

2.21.2008

Back on the High front...

Here's some pics of Stephenie with the cast, and some Twilight ga-ga mothers with the others.

RP looks high again.
But that's okay.

So everyone's signed off, and I forgot to tell you! I'm going to be in a skit in March for the school Shakespeare thing, something the Seniors get to do (but our class has a skit in for some reason). It's a Parody called 'Much Ado High School'-

...Wait.

I talked about this already.

Crap.

I'm too lazy to delete that though, so you're just going to have to ride the brain fart with me, here.

Anyway.

Wow. How lame. That's really all I had in mind to say.

ENJOY THE PICTURES, I guess.

...

And pray that I get to spend time with my favorite three guys on the face of the Earth. :)

"I Gave Up Religion for Lent"

-Jonas Hart (Soon-to-be failure of SciSem, but really, aren't we all?)

And, just for good measure, this is Jonas:

That boy is funnayyy. (The quote is from, like, a week after I met him.)

Anywho, I'm down to four more slides before I can officially rejoice and sleep for three days (not literally, unfortunately, but the point still stands). I'm not taking this stupid class next year - It's just kind of dumb that I'm putting all this crap into it, and yet:
a) I'm failing.
b) My project blows.
c) Everyone hates this class.
-Resulting in all of us scheming on how we're going to BS more of our project and how to get away with it. Lovely.

I also have ANOTHER paper to write for English and a sonnet to memorize before Friday, along with another script, which I love.

It's called 'Much Ado High School' - a modern parody of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing'. I'm the villian, Don John (who IS a girl, okay, and prefers to go by DJ), Don Pedro's obsessively evil and conceited step-sister.

It's awesome. I'm hilarious and sinister and give a lunch lady pink eye as part of a smear campaign on my brother because I hate him.

Thank the Lord. I thought my part would suck.

So it's getting icy outside (supposedly), and it's looking like I won't get to spend the night doing make-up work with Kyleigh (Oh, drat!) OR get to hang out with Daniel and Morgan (CRAAAPP), but I will be able to go to WHHS production of 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood', if I got the name right.

She said I had to, because she came to see the Pajama Game. Pssh.

...

What the EFF are you DOING?

Have you Downed your Battery?

I love it.

AND, I might actually be going to bed before one tonight. THRILLING. :D

In other note, I've downloaded a trial demo of Songwriter for a special surprise.

:D

NOW I'M EXCITED.

I'll admit, once and for all, I LOVE THEM.

But okay. Does ANYONE else want to poke Jaspers hair and deflate it?! It's KILLING me.

2.18.2008

Change-Change-CHAAAANGE.

:)

Just because of the header I have on Clara's blog, it makes me want a Lauren's blog header.

I might try that tonight.

After the powerpoint.

And the other work.

Which I won't have done until midnight, at least, I'm assuming.

Blaaaah.

12:27am

That's the EXACT time it was posted.
So go see.

I'm so exhausted. This is seriously my longest post yet for her.

And yes, I cried. Once.

Which would be the first time for such a thing.

Anyway, I'm going to plug in my thing-that's-supposed-to-resemble-yet-has-no-relation-to-an-ipod and presumably sleep. I'll probably ACTUALLY keep this promise in about thirty minutes, but you know, it's the thought that counts.

I don't think Jessie's getting back online, haha.

--

Also, there's two 'Fix You' songs on Clara's playlist, and yes, it's on purpose. They had no 'Color My World', which if you haven't heard, go track down on LimeWire, or if you're lazy, ask me to send to you. It's my favorite song right now.

2.16.2008

Challenge

POSTED!

:)

My turn.

--

On another note, I typed up a full 2,126 words of Clara post. The thing is, it's not complete.

And HOLY CRAP, is it sad.

It's got a weird transition, and I think a lot of people are going to hate me for having the ability to make it a happy post and it turning out sad, but I mean, seriously, this is what would happen. I've had this written up (most of it, at least) for MONTHS as 'going to happen', it was just a matter of time.

Now, okay, I could post it as it is, this 2,126 words, and call it [Title], pt. 1, but I'm not, because that would give you more incintive to kill me. No matter how long I make this post, it will NOT be "completely" informative, because of the ending, though how it turns out, I really don't know right now. I'm leaving that up to the realisticness of the situation.

The ending will show up in a month or two, I'm hoping. Maybe sooner, maybe not.

I'm posting this because I plan to get it up by tomorrow afternoon/night, and I'm sure someone's going to want to say a few things about it.

Nothing bad, just... Yelling at me. :)

Just remember - IT WAS PLANNED BEFORE THIS SPECIFIC CHARACTER EVER SHOWED UP.

Happy Weekend!

YES.

IT'S HERE.

(& so is the gorgeous ice.)

:D

Excerpt Day!

Today, Valentine's Day, is officially EXCERPT DAY!

*Stephenie Meyer has released a excerpt of The Host.
*I posted a link to a freaking amazing Harry Potter thing the other day, a condensed and HILARIOUS #7 synopsis, and now I will hereby post an excerpt of THAT.

"Harry stops to give him instructions: "If anything happens to me, there's something you absolutely have to do -- kill Nagini, Voldemort's snake." Continuing on his way, he suddenly figures out how to open the Snitch Dumbledore left him, and inside it he finds the Gaunt ring, which contains the resurrection stone. He uses this to bring back his parents, Sirius, and Lupin for one last chat.

Lily: We're all so very proud of you.

James: And we're so looking forward to hanging out with you. Fred's already here, and we're throwing a huge bash to welcome him.

Sirius: In fact, if you get a chance, tell George to off himself and join us.

Harry: Is it painful to die.

Sirius: Not at all. 'Course I just fell through some curtains, which now that I think of it is probably the most suck-ass death in this entire series."

HAHAHAHAHA.
I've read it three times now.
I love it a lot.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Singles Awareness Day, Post II

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

For you HP lovers, something that will make you laugh until you CRY - Spoilers, bad language, and amazing amounts of funosity. [Harry does a double-take -- there's no way a nine year old boy should sound like Alan Rickman.]

2.13.2008

Happy Singles Awareness Day, Post I

So I'm very jealous.

Kifer and Kim, my bff from forever ago, are going out.

SHE GOT A BOYFRIEND FOR VALENTINE'S DAY.

And from what she's telling me, he's amazing. Which, I know. Because he's awesome and we're friends.

What's kind of funny is that the second she was like 'yeah, so I'm going out with someone else now...' I KNEW.

But I'm REALLY happy for them. Because Kim's close to like me, except with a more boyfriend record, and Chris is truly awesome.

Besides - I'm occupied with someone else.

Hahaha.

That sounded really stalkerish.

EOI Week.

That's what they're calling it. Supposedly, it's because we're taking the practice EOIs, which really, isn't even true - we're taking ONE. ENGLISH.

And it's so eashay: [reworded] Pro or Con: Curfew? Why/Why not?

Nicely done, Bronson.

So, since I'm just a sophomore, most of my acting is over this year - at least the major stuff. The 29th, we're going to Chic. High and watching their High School Musical, which is pretty darn exciting, come to think of it.

I have a birthday to go to on Friday, a boy to invite over on Saturday (depending on the party sleeping hours), and papers to panic over.

Wooooooo!

Oh, you can only guess, right?

:(

Jessie and I talked for a huge amount of time.
It was funny and sad.

Oh, I had a dream about a staircase last night. It moved, and when I thought I was going to fall down it, someone saved me. They were my best friend from elementary school who I didn't even remember - AT ALL.

But you know, symbolism works.

Maybe I'll dream tonight.
Just... not about staircases. Please.

JEEZ.

Okay.

I finished Clara's post. Thank the Lord.

It's so freaking long, you guys. I'm not even kidding.

It could be because of the dialogue, or because I just randomly have her have mini-epiphanies all the time, but either way, it's one of the longest yet, page-space wise. I just had to fit so much in because of the two-post thing, which doesn't make any logical sense until you see a) the shortness of the V-Day post, and b) the amount of story I have to have to go behind it.

Blah. Clara exhausts me.

Sorry if her post is a little on the 'wtf' side. I just wanted to get it said and done.

Much more exciting things to come in the future, promise.

Oh, and I've unprivated this thing. It's getting annoying since you have to log in with your specific account that you sent me, and I can't seem to get all the permissions to work, so yes. I've gone back and edited every single post with personal information in it (specifically, certain names) so I won't be stalkered down.

Sorry, Jessie - I know we just finally got your email to work for this. Ha!

2.10.2008

Clara-bell.

IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN, OKAY?!

TWO POSTS - ONE BEFORE THE 13th, THE OTHER COMPLETELY V-DAY THEMED.

Capscapscaps.

I'm so glad it's overrr.

The WGA strike is "over", though the witching and copmlaining isn't completely gone. You know how that goes, though.

So hey!

I took the site down for a couple of hours last night just to work on it, and I figured out that there's this cool little button called 'random'.

It made this layout, practically. I love it.

Let's see... Oh! I changed the links on both link categories so that they all work now - Katie's and ONTD.

I also took out tags (that was getting lame) and added in my description again.

Also, FYI, I changed the header, the sub-title, the profile description, and my entire likes and dislikes.

So pretty much, it's better.

2.09.2008

BIG Breath.

Soooo...

The preformance was AMAZING.

I didn't get any pictures, though I will be sending aorund a DVD (after I wrongly copy it from another disk that Baugus has) of the entire thing, plus one of the musical. :)

I do have 'lauren-doing-her-hair' pictures.
& 'lauren-after-the-mess' pictures.

So... I guess that's better than nothing.

If you want to know about other TWILIGHT news that I'm okay with...

Yeahyeah.

:D

It's been a heckuva' day.

(Also: See my shirt in all pictures above? That would be our Up the Down Staircase shirts. I love them.)

2.07.2008

Tomorrow, Tomorrow!

"it's only a day away!"

PREFORMANCE TOMORROW.

PICTURES TO COME.

2.06.2008

My 204th POST!

CHRIS KIFER HUGGED ME TODAY AFTER KICKING ME IN THE BUTT DURING THE FIRE DRILL UNEXPECTEDLY. IT COMPLETELY MADE MY DAY!

That is all.

:D

2.05.2008

Oh, okay.

So the rehersal-slash-half performance was pretty good. I said the wrong line once (holycrap), but it was covered and all good. No one screwed up all that badly, and our cast - RED - was better than the Blue, though we caused more trouble off-stage than on.

Anywho, I got home at about half past four-ish, and went to sleep. It's amazing how much being under those bright lights tires you out, hm? I woke up at about nine (when all of you, for the most part, had to leave, haha.), and then ate some cereal, IMed, and went back to bed... Where I am now.

...

BASICALLY, my day was pretty freakin' uneventful.

This post sucks. Haha.

...

"It was cold outside, though not uncomfortably so, but I pulled my coat around me anyway and headed out across the battered parking lot to the park. In appearance, it was crowded with laughing children and gossiping parents, but if you walked a little further, past the last edge of the latest installment of sidewalk, on to the torn and trashed rubble that was only slightly similar to anything resembling a path, through the very edge of the towering lot of trees, it was absolutely quiet for almost a quarter-mile stretch.
Not many people knew about this section of the park, or at least came here often. It was overgrown and sheltered, with the more ancient of benches and run-down water fountains in sight. When people did come here, it was usually the skateboarders from the nearby middle school; the place where they could build ramps that weren’t constantly being torn down."

2.03.2008

MMbop.

Just dropping a post to say I love you.

:D

Haha.

Clara blog soon to follow-up.

2.01.2008

Pre-V-Day Post.

So I didn't do it last year, because I was sick, but usually, I'm pretty good about expressing myself about Valentine's Day.

It sucks. Every. Single. YEAR.

:)

I don't know - maybe it's because of the amazing amounts of love and all the girls who are completely entranced with their admirers, but it's one of those holidays that I've never really gotten to celebrate, so I hate it.

:P

Annnyyywho.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD, FEBRUARY of OH-EIGHT.
