That's the first line of my challenge attempt, I'm going to go ahead and say. It's kind of a 'prologue' thing, but the 2k will also involve [part of] the story, I promise.

It's about a girl named Bel (Abeline - I really think that's one of my favorite names ever) who, at eight, is taken in from an orphanage in which she never belonged (not like 'didn't fit in' - like 'family didn't care') who is carted off to live out her life as the successor to a very rich, very powerful old woman named Madame Sadine, who picked a random orphan number (they go by numbers, not names at an orphanage) to take her place in the Royal Court of the Federated States of Genalya when she's eighteen.

The whole thing revolves around the future, in her life when a war hits their land and the controversial issue of not having a blood-relation to the predecessor of the seat.

...But there's love. And there's adventure.

And tons of rule-breaking.
